Kia is all set to launch its much anticipated SUV – the Seltos 2023 in the Indian market. The new Seltos is expected to come with new design changes, improved safety features and new engine specifications. The SUV is expected to be launched in India by mid-2023.

Design

While the new Seltos shares the same silhouette as its predecessor, it comes with a facelifted front fascia that includes a new wide grille, LED headlights with DRLs, LED taillights, an aggressively styled bumper and alloy wheels. And apart from them, all other elements remain the same as the previous models.

Inside, the new SUV's new cabin features a redesigned dashboard that includes a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment system that's compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other notable interior features include rear AC vents, leather-trimmed seats, adjustable front passenger seats and a power sunroof.

Engine

The Seltos engine specifications have not been revealed yet. Current models are offered with three engines: a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbodiesel engine and a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine.

The 1.5-liter petrol engine generates a peak power of 115 hp and a maximum torque of 144 Nm; The 1.5-liter turbodiesel engine provides 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque; and the 1.4 liter turbo petrol engine churns out 140 horsepower and 242 Nm of torque.

Globally, the 2023 Seltos is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine – which is mated to an iVT and automatic transmission – that generates 146bhp of power and 180Nm of torque.

Safety features

The 2023 Seltos is expected to come with enhanced safety features such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), Blind Spot Collision Warning, Intelligent Speed ​​Limit Assist and Intelligent Speed ​​Limit Warning.

In addition, it also comes with the same safety features as its predecessor, such as Lane Keeping Assist, Rear Collision Avoidance Assist, Driver Alert, Safe Exit Warning and High Beam Assist, among others.

2023 Kia Seltos Price in India

Currently, Seltos models come at a base price of INR 10.69 lakh and go up to INR 17.39 lakh. So, for the 2023 iteration, fans can expect it to be priced around the base price of INR 11.50 lakhs. The SUV will serve as a rival to Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
