Dell G5 2021 has arrived in Nepal, making it another option for gaming enthusiasts. The new entry represents a niche in the low-end gaming segment of the Nepali market, but has a high-end aesthetic. Let's take a look at the details of the brand new Dell G5.
The G5 has an Alienware-inspired design, visible through some orange accents, some "G" badges - representing the G series - and the keyboard; the icons and the backlit system also carry an orange treatment that adds a striking look. The front of the machine is clean and port-free, while the other sides are not; on the right side there is a speaker grille, two USB ports and four fan outlets; the back side has two large outlets for fans, USB ports, Thunderbolt 3 Type-C port, supporting alt display mode, USB Type-A, HDMI and DC in jack; on the left side is the ethernet port, power status LED, and combo headphone jack. Underneath the machine there is a large amount of ventilation and huge vents for fans that almost cover half of the part.
Opening the lid reveals a 15.6-inch LCD panel, a fairly small trackpad with an integrated mouse button, a full-sized keyboard with a numeric keypad, and a large array of air intakes. The trackpad is rather smaller compared to the previous generation. Other than that, the screen has reasonably thin bezels on the sides and top, and above the screen is a small webcam that spans a pair of microphones. Similarly, there is an IPS anti-glare panel with a resolution of FHD 1920 x 1080 pixels; brightness reaches up to 250 nits; and the refresh rate is 120 Hz. The dimensions of the machine measure 21.21 mm in height, 357.26 mm in width and 272.11 mm in depth. It weighs 2.44 kg.
The Dell G5 is powered by the 10th generation Intel Core i5-10200H, a quad-core processor with a maximum boost frequency of 4.1GHz. Graphics are handled by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 with 4 GB GDDR6 VRAM. It has 8GB of DDR4 RAM, which can be expanded up to 32GB, and a 256GB SSD. The machine is equipped with a 3-cell 56Wh battery and a two-speaker setup with Nahimic Audio.
